Adenocarcinoma evolved to Neuroendocrine?

We visited with my husband's oncologist this morning and he stated that the initial adenocarcinoma is evolving into neuroendocrine. My husband now has cancer several places in his spine and also 2 places in the liver. Dr suggested because of the liver mets he is certain the cancer has evolved to neuroendocrine along with adenocarcinoma. My husband's cancer has always had a low PSA. His PSA was 9 and he was a Gleason 9 when Dxd 6 years ago. His PSA was 45.79 on Sept 11. He has been on Lupron since after surgery in Nov 2015. His other treatments have consisted of radiation to the prostate bed, and radiation to mets in spine, Erleada, Zytiga, Docetaxel, Cabazitaxel.
I am looking for more information and any experiences with Neuroendocrine. There doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there out there. Oncologist is prescribing more chemo, consisting of Cisplatin + Jevtana. Has anyone had experience with this combination treatment?
Oncologist specializes in prostate cancer.

A doctor that comes up alot with neuroendocrine is Dr Beltran.

If you are on Facebook, there are several excellent NET groups there, including the Neuroendocrine Cancer Awareness Network and (my favorite) the Carcinoid Coffee Cafe.

I was faced with possible Carcinoid cancer several years ago and FB was the only place I could find any good information. Good luck to you and your husband!

I too am being treated for neuroendocrine PC. Look my thread entitled Small Cell Cancer My Journey. It might be helpful. I went through the Etopsise/Carbopltin chemotherapy. It reduced the tumor burden by bout 60%. I a, now on Lynparza for the past nine months. There has been no further progression on that drug. It is from Astra Zeneca. I has been approved for castrate resistant PC but not for Small Cell so I am taking it off-label with good results so far. As you Onc about it next visit.
