Well after going on Jevtana for 4 months PSA went from 188.8 to 290.4 did nothing but make me weaker. Doctor
Got me approval for Lynparza have been on two weeks 3 pills a day. I go every week to have my blood done and
The first week my PSA went down 10 points to 280.4, this week it went up to 339.8 and increase of 59.4. Not sure what to do now. I am hormone resistant so Zytiga and Xtandia did not work..Taxotere did work but make me so weak the doctor stopped it or said I would be in the hospital. Am at a loss now on what to do if I am dieing I might as well go off this medication and see what happens.maybe I will fell better for a while. Has anyone been on Lynparza and seen up and down with PSA. The next suggestions of the doctor was weekly infusions of Carboplatin/taxotere weekly. Not sure what that will do waiting to hear from doctor.

Jerry, Those are tuff numbers to look at. At this point I have not been on chemo, so hopefully others will chime in soon. You are on a path that a lot of us have either been through, or will go through. We are here to support you, and keep us posted as you go along with treatment.

Jerry, sorry to hear this. Hopefully somebody will chime in soon with experience on the drugs you are on, i know it can be quiet here on the weekends. Seems your Dr is not expecting it will turn around if he is suggesting you move to Carboplatin/Taxotere.

I have heard of some (really) positive results on this trial

Also there are trials for Lu-177 here in the usa and you can go abroad for treatment (India, UK, Germany, etc….) if your Pca is psma avid

Thank you all for your support. I finally heard from the doctor and he said since the first blood work was so good it is probably a flare. Wanted me to go on the full dose of 600 mg in the morning and 600 at night and he will do another test on Wednesday with PSA. So hopefully we will get new numbers. I do not want to discourage any of you on the current treatments. I have had Prostate cancer a Gleason 8 for 14 years plus I am a old man and still going everyday they are coming out with new and more effective drugs. I will keep you posted on my progress and wish the best for all of you your support means a lot

This is the thread about amg509. Apparently its this double edged molecule….one end attracts killer t-cells and the other end attaches to PCa cells. When the t-cells get close to the cancer cells, they eliminate them.

Pretty cool stuff!

I don't know anything about these cancer drugs but wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you and hoping that you find answers soon.

AMG 509 trial began about a year ago and according to the trial information will run through 2025. There are several sites in the US and they expect about 359 participants. I didn’t go further in the info to see if it is still open. Just Google AMG 509 for a lot of information. Go to www.clinical trials.gov for the specifics. Amgen is the sponsor and you can also go to their website for specific information.

I have a friend who has done well on a lighter dose of weekly chemotherapy.

We've got some loyal comrades here who have embarked on LUTETIUM-177 treatments, and experienced success.

You have maintained your inner spirit and "battle brother" determination, throughout it all.

Hi Jerry - my husband started Lynparza about the same time as you. 238 to 73 for the first month. We went into this expecting that it would take a lot of time to show a response. The anxiety for the next check up is going to be huge. Hang in there. Deep breaths!

Try and get on a list for compassionate Lu177 !!
