Hi All !

I've been back online here this past week catching up on posts and seeing how you are all doing! It seems like an age since I was last active on here - probably last Summer, as life suddenly got really busy with looking after my Aunt with cancer. Its just so nice to read everyone's posts and I thought I'd let you have a quick update for those who remember me! I think I've managed to add a signature now too ....I'm not the most technically minded so apologies if I've messed up and its not there!

My husbands PSA has never really dropped to undetectable and a PSMA scan showed a spot on his pelvis near his right hip, but the MRI he had a couple of weeks ago revealed this was actually a small fracture which the Consultant felt was radiotherapy damage and probably exacerbated by him falling when on a snowboarding holiday before Christmas with our sons - I do remember him phoning home and complaining of hip pain!!!

Anyway I guess micro mets are a certainty now and the PSA has dropped with 4 weeks on Casodex and he will be starting Erleada shortly. I think he got quite scared by the possible side affects that were mentioned and the fact he has to have kidney and liver function blood tests every month to check its safe to continue and we've no idea how long he is going to be on it, the possibility of chemo in the future was mentioned if/when this fails and the Consultant mentioned the possibility of remission for a good few years which would be amazing.

Right, I'm going to click send and then go make myself a cup of tea - so nice to be back on here!

CC welcome back, although I am new here, I took the time to read all your previous posts. I was really surprised to see your husband was not on any hormone therapy after his surgery. His after surgery results certainly pointed to some radiation and ADT to keep the PSA down and the PC under control. In any case it is good to see that he will now be starting down a path for hopeful remission. My best to you and your husband.

I have thought of you and your husband in England a great number of times & wondered how you both were faring!

So thankful for your update --- and letting us know how things are going in your husband's case.

It sounds like you've embarked on a great new treatment plan with CASODEX and ERLEADA! Informed treatment decisions!

It sounds like your husband's medical team & doctors are taking a proactive approach --- with checkpoints in place --- to monitor side effects and measure efficacy.

Thankful to hear that the initial doses of CASODEX have already shown benefits! Now ~ looking forward ~ here's to the impact of ERLEADA, too!

Be sure to let us know how things go for your husband, once he begins ERLEADA!

It's a newer weapon in the "castle armory" --- and we all learn from each other, by sharing treatment experiences.

Please let your husband know he has BEST WISHES being sent his way! We invite him to read here, or drop a line, if he wishes to do so!

Cyclone !!!! Its so nice to hear from you and especially nice to hear that you like tea too !!! I will confess ....my tea drinking habits are not very educated - I like very strong tea (builders brew its called over here) and I use tea leaves in a tea pot and then let it stew for a good 3 minutes!!!!

I will pass on your best wishes to my husband - I wish he would go onto forums himself as I'm sure he would be encouraged but he still doesn't like to look into things himself, read about it or even talk about it with people - it all just worries and depresses him! This week its Prostate Cancer Awareness over here ...or at least I think it must be as there are so many articles in the newspaper, tv adverts and on the radio - he hates it, and says it puts him back to square one mentally. This is why I'm so thankful I can come onto this forum and sit and read the posts and learn !!!

I will definitely let you know how Erleada goes !!!

Hi All

Just to give an update - my husband has just finished his first month on Erleada with only mild fatigue to contend with. His PSA is now <0.1 but his testosterone is twice the upper limit of normal so is being swapped from Casodex to Prostap and I'm thinking that maybe the reason he hasn't really experienced any side affects is because the testosterone levels were raised?????.

I am T-H-A-N-K-F-U-L for the update --- I know you and your husband must be encouraged by that PSA level that fell below 1.00!

I remember when my PSA finally tumbled down "into decimals" --- so I am thankful to hear your update.

Stay in close contact with your husband's medical team --- those follow-up appointments are important --- and they can adjust things along the way.

Thank you CYCLONE its so lovely to hear from you and I hope you are keeping well - we've had a long bank holiday weekend here in England and have had various offspring visiting which has been lovely, so I'm just getting to my laptop to read posts. It is such a relief when the PSA finally drops right down isnt it!

Welcome back glad to hear the update.
Up in Poughkeepsie New York we used to have GH Ford tea I miss their "Tea ball's" big ball shaped tea bags. They had everything in tea.
I think I'll check online to see if they are still available.
My favorite is Darjaarling I may not spell it correctly but do love it
