Well day 4 feel very weak and sleep most of the day not sure if this is normal but I gained 3 pds so at least I am not losing weight. A little nausea but that’s it except for the fatigue. Hopefully, it is working.

I learned that healthy HYDRATION is important after each chemotherapy treatment --- and comfort food is ALWAYS great!

In between, rest, recover, rejuvenate!

Naps are allowed!

Well have been on weekly infusions of Taxotere and my PSA is now 492.6 not sure how well the infusions are working because when I started the infusions it had been 6 weeks since my last PSA of 484.0 and I was on no treatment for 6 weeks, this time it went up 8.6 points which for me is good. I go back in 2 weeks for another PSA test so then we will actually see if it is working. I feel horrible and very week the doctor said these weekly sessions will last 6 months if I can tolerate it. I said then how long if it works he said a few good months almost seems not worth it to suffer for 6 months to get a few months but I have no idea what will happen if I stop and how long and painful the process will be. I guess I will wait for the next PSA and see what it is and then make a decision. What I am doing now is not a life I sleep almost 24 hours a day and have not appetite my wife is a 24x7 caregiver and without her I would be dead. She wants me to fight not sure at this point.

Thank you all , just when I thought no more I fell better today and do not have to go back for another treatment for a week and a half by then I will have my new PSA numbers and that will be the decision.

Thanks for the info will talked to my doctor about it. Well yesterday I got some good news my PSA went down to 428 from 492 so far looks like taxotere is working. I start another round of Chemo today so hoping it continues to go down. Thank you all again for your support I guess I need to keep fighting and not. Give up.

Your fight against this disease is truly inspiring, as is your understanding that the end of life is something we will inevitably all face. I truly hope these new treatments bring you some relief. I hope that when my time comes, I am strong enough to deal with it with the same courage and determination you are demonstrating. It truly is a battle, and you truly are quite a warrior.
