Thank you for starting this thread. My husband's just coming off Xtandi now and we are considering next options. So helpful and encouraging to hear your great progress on Lu-177. This is really the future of care for prostate cancer!

Continued good news here after most recent labs. A couple weeks after treatment #4, PSA went to 2.94!

Also, WBC went back up -- from 3.0 to 4.40. I was a bit scared of the drop to 3.0, and would have postponed treatment #5 currently set for 2/4/22 if it continued to drop. But we're all set for Treatment #5. Full history of LU-177 treatments and labs below:

8/13/21 - Labs - PSA 64.8
8/20/21 - LU-177 Treatment #1
9/15 - Labs - PSA 31.51
10/1/21 - LU-177 Treatment #2
10/22/21 - Labs - PSA 12.36

All bloodwork, specifically WBC, RBC, Hgt and Platelets, have been strong, in range, until the 12/21 labs which showed a dip in WBC to 3.0, down from around 4.3. But as noted above, WBC is back up to 4.40.

New labs from 1/27/22, the PSA decline continues. It is now down to 2.14! From mid August to now, it’s dropped nearly 50% every month. It started at 65 back then. Continued blessings. Treatment #5 this Friday.

Latest update (and to bounce this post for some recent queries on LU-177). My latest labs showed PSA drop continuing to 1.87. My sixth and final treatment is this Friday. Thanks for all the support, brothers.

Steve, so glad to hear that the treatment is working for you. Hopefully I will never need it, but knowing you are blazing the trail with impressive results is much appreciated. I know there are some here that hope it becomes widely available soon. Wishing you the best,

Last LU-177 treatment (#6 of 6) went fine. A week later, PSA was at 1.79. The last two drops have been much less (%) than all the others--but it's still dropping. Blessings continue.

Great to hear Steve. The slow down of PSA drop seems like it could the normal course, but I'm not sure. I think your results have been fantastic.

Do you know if down the road the treatment can be repeated, if needed?

Mattam: Two of the best things I've heard from my onco team last week:

1. The results I've seen could well keep PSA drop or stability for the next year or two.
2. If you ever need to do additional LU-177 treatments in the future, "we see no reason why you couldn't do LU-177 again."

For my wife and I, that's pretty close to a new lease on life.

Wow, that's just amazing. This, along with some other developments in PCa, may mean we could be entering an era of true, long term PCa management.

Each treatment seemed go well --- and there were SIGNIFICANT drops in PSA, as treatments continued.

I remember when I had chemotherapy and with TAXOTERE --- my oncologist noted PSA drops with each infusion.

I remember him saying, as treatments continued that the last treatments had the hardest work to do --- unleashing cytotoxic power on the resilient, stubborn cancer cells --- so even small drops in PSA towards the end were SIGNIFICANT. I will always remember that.

Your experiences with LUTETIUM-177 have really blazed a trail that you have documented here.

Your treatments represent a whole new approach --- different than the cut, poison, and burn methods --- associated with surgery, standard chemo, and radiation.

I saw a documentary on the future of oncology treatments --- and there really WAS a belief that someday, treatments for cancer will be far less invasive and far less caustic to the system.

Your treatments are a step FORWARD, I feel. You seem to have tolerated the series of LUTEIUM-177 treatments very well.

Best of all --- it's SO encouraging to hear that treatments can potentially be repeated --- if warranted.

That truly represents the magic RESET button that could help so many fellows!

You have shared your journey here with us --- and I am so happy that your results have been astounding and remarkable!

Well my PSA was 491 on Taxotere weekly. The doctor told me PSA keep rising and that was all they could do so apparently a death sentence. Well last week I went for a blood test. And my PSA went down 108 points after 4 weeks of no daily treatment. The doctor had no logical explanation but asked me if I wanted to try LU-177 first I have to have a PSMA Pet Scan and it takes a while for approval. Have not heard anything yet but hopefully it will be approved and it will give me some more time.

Great to hear of your PSA reduction. Also great to hear your doc is going to bat for LU-177. Seems like this could be the treatment of the future.

For the first time in nearly THREE YEARS, my PSA = 1.00. That's a 44% reduction from last month. My last LU-177 treatment was March 18. Here's the miraculous history of my LU-177 treatments:

Each time I await my labs, I think--well, PSA, it might go up now, or stop going up. But it has just kept dropping. Also, WBC jumped up to 4.6, from 3.5 last month. One of my concerns has been that LU-177 will affect the immune system. It did for a bit, but now looks like my immunes are recovering well.

I pray that others can get this treatment--and that it performs well to significantly reduce pca and PSA.

Steve, congratulations on your amazing results. Do you have more treatments or was this your last one? What is next for you other than just more PSA tests. Will you be on ADT going forward? I am really hoping these results continue on. Again congratulations and as always my best wishes.

Thanks Jack, Mattam. The 6th LU-177 was the last one for me. The protocol, pre-FDA Approval, has been up to six treatments will be given, six weeks apart, if tolerated by the patient--and if it's showing positive results. There were around 50-60 men in the UCLA compassionate use program, and not all received 6 treatments. For some, it did not help to reduce PSA, but for ALL it helped to eliminate bone pain caused by pca mets. Some men had to stop before tx #6 because of Hgb or platelet deficiencies, or because they weren't responding to tx. I still find that unbelievable given my success.

I will stay on Orgovyx and get quarterly XGeva shots for bone health. I will stay on ADT, because after a brief vacation in Sept 2020, while deemed castrate resistant, PSA started to rise at 42-45% per month. I believe that while I was "diagnosed" as castrate resistant, I believe SOME pca was still castrate sensitive. My first labs after starting Orgovyx, PSA dropped 18%... I mean, who's to say 100% of their pca is castrate resistant? So I'll stay on Orgovyx for the foreseeable future.

Post-FDA approval: LU-177 will likely have the same 6-cycle regimen from what I hear from UCLA. How medicare and insurance companies approve it remains to be seen. You'll probably have to prove MCRPC by failing tx's like Lupron, Zytiga, XTandi, and have had a round of chemo. You'll also need to be somewhat "healthy" with decent immune numbers, Hgb, platelets, etc. But we'll know more later. I'm in contact with Novartis (maker of LU-177) and will relay any useful info from them. Thanks, brothers!

Steve, thanks so much for the detailed report. You might have answered this before, but if your PSA starts to rise again, can you do the LU-177 treatment again? Hopefully that never happens and again congratulations to a fellow who is blazing the trail of the Orgovyx treatment for me.
