Dad had some more cells removed from bladder neck last week. They sent them for biopsy and they are doing immuno slides. I’m not sure what that is for? Maybe a more I’m depth look? I googled it but it seems very detailed. Has anyone had that done?

Can't answer the question directly. However, my wife and Dad have had pathology work done after biopsies that can take weeks for some specific tests (FISH, Molecular Genetics, Chromosone) that are sent out to specific labs. Usually PCa pathology does not utilize those test for reasons only a pathologist could explain but recurrence in the bladder may require more study. Just guessing....

Ok. Thanks. His procedure was done last Tuesday May 24. These cells are in the bladder neck. Just very strange that there would be PC regrowth when he started Lupron the first of December and PSA and testosterone are very low. Undetectable PSA and I believe testosterone in January was 17. PSA in April was still undetectable.

Well no answers yet. The specimen is now being sent to the Cleveland Clinic. What we do know is this….weakly to moderately positive for PSA/PSAP and negative for P63 CK7 CK20 and gata3. The spindle cells are most consistent with stromal hyperplasia with reactive changes. Idk what all of that really means. They couldn’t agree on how to classify it so that’s why they sent it off. Anyone have any similar experience? Still praying hard that it is something benign.
Dad is pretty upset that he is still leaking from this last cystoscopy. 🙁
