Referral for RO at Siteman/WashU in STL

Had my 2-month follow up since finishing PBRT. Got some good news and bad news—
Good news — all my lab results are great. PSA undetectable. Testosterone 5. Liver enzymes good (watching as I’m on Zytiga). Cholesterol is great, tho triglycerides high. Blood counts great.

Bad news — my RO, Dr Randall Brenneman, is relocating to Colorado where his wife has a practice. I really felt the stars had aligned and that I had “rolled a seven” from our first consult.

Rather than randomly getting the next doc in line for a patient, or the new replacement, I’m hoping someone will reach out with the referral to a RO there for whom they have that same kind of high regard.

Oh please no!!!!!! He’s my RO. He’s great. darnit. I’ve lost my urologist and now my RO in the 2 1/2 years since my original diagnosis.

He is incredible. He would always calm me down as my journey hasn’t trended in the right direction from the get go. This is devastating news to me. I’ll be anxiously awaiting someone else’s opinion.

My MO down there is Dr Reimers. She’d good too.

Olmsnhunk, I looked back and you were the member who first gave the the referral to Dr Brenneman. I re-read you’re opinion of him and can only say that you were too modest about him in your recommendation. I’m afraid he may be “one of a kind”. I posted a question via MyChart and see that he answered at midnight. My first appointment were via via Zoom due to Covidand 2nd and he spent well over an hour with us both times.

I also see Dr Reimers and agree she’s top notch as well. Young enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

I’ll let you know how this progresses. Hopefully we’ll here from someone here.

Yes. His nurses say he never sleeps. I emailed him once about 9:30 at night hoping he’d respond first thing in the AM. He responded about 20 mins later.

He spent about an hour and a half with me a couple months ago as we determined I was unfortunately castrate resistant. Really calmed some of my fears. He was also a HUGE help to my wife who was diagnosed with breast cancer this past October. He would exam her even though he wasn’t her Dr. She’s doing much better than I am thankfully but Dr Brenneman showed great compassion for her as well as me.

Most of my appointments with him ran over as he would explain in great detail the next step and what to expect. His staff, especially Courtney, is amazing too.

I am just so bummed by this news.
