PSA following SBRT and other monotherapy radiation treatments can take several years to reach a Nadir. Mine has appeared to take about four years. I thought it might help other folks if I included the date of the my post treatment PSA numbers.
1.1–3 month
1.3–6 month
1.1–8 month
0.9–11 month
1.8–14 month
2.7–20 month
1.0–26 month
0.3–32 month
0.6–38 month
0.8–44 month
0.4–50 month
0.4–62 month
My last test was yesterday so 62 months post treatment and I plan on staying vigilant with yearly testing. My Nadir appears to be 0.3. My big ‘bounce’ was likely in year one to year two with smaller bounces after that. I still have a prostate so my results will be different than those electing removal. I have zero lingering side effects and sexual and urinary function are the same as when I was in my forties. Terry

We all get scared with a significant uptick in PSA. Pretty typical, we are told by our rad oncologist, but scary nonetheless. Glad to see that 'things' returned to a very acceptable level after a while.

I;m another SBRT "Post Toastie." I completed treatment in Nov. 2016. Over the next 66 months, my PSA mostly trended down, but bounced and rattled around quite a bit. It has taken 5 1/2 years to nadir at 0.47, from pre-treatment high of 5.69.

There was a very Tall man who used to be a member here whose PSA didn't nadir until 6 years after SBRT, so I feel that I am in good company having taken so long to nadir.

An interesting side note is PSA is measured in nano grams per milliliter which is the same unit as parts per billion. Putting that into a visual perspective…it takes about nine oranges to fill up a large salad bowl and about a billion oranges to fill up a large stadium. We take these very small and large numbers for granted.
