Low T and Covid (not good)

I imagine having "super low" testosterone from ADT isn't going to help matters. 🙂

My goal is not to get COVID. We are all at highrisk whether we have low T or not. I and my wife are getting the latest booster shot tomorrow morning. The only time in the past 2 1/2 years we've been in a building is to get the COVID shots. I wear a mask and social distance. Haven't had a common cold since this plague appeared. Stay safe.

Well ~ with a new school year starting, and me being "Back To School" ~ I came home with a froggy voice last evening.

I "hit the hay" and zonked out last night. I woke up early and used one of those at-home corona test kits that were sent out by the government some time back.

Sure enough ~ a little pink strip and a little blue strip showed up on the test strip ~ so I am tackling corona this weekend.

According to plan, I sent a message to my doctor this morning and a prescription for PAXLOVID has already been placed.

So far ~ just feels like a slight cold ~ an occasional cough & a froggy voice.

Cyclone, so sorry you ended up getting covid. I hope it is short lived. Don’t be surprised if you get better, but later test positive again. From what I gather the second time around is not as bad. I retired from teaching after 34 years. I also coached football in the first season every year. Hoarse doesn’t begin to describe my voice after the first week. Trying to get the players in middle school, some who have never played before, in the right positions with a voice that sounded like whisper, was a task. I applaud your continued support and helping out during this teaching shortage which is country wide.

A funny story. More than a handful of times when players were putting on their tail pads for the first time, I would find they had put them on in front. They thought it was to protect their “Junk”as they say. LOL
Since I don’t have a horse in the race in your’s and Matt’s teams. As I respect you both, I will root for both. I can’t lose. LOL. My best to all.

Cyclone sorry to hear this, hope your case is as mild as can be, and quick to fade away. Unreal how quickly you got infected. One day back.
My son is an elementary school teacher with 18 years in, he took a leave of absence this year using his sick days to stay on payroll (he never calls in sick so has lots o them. So his leave is approved through end of February. He may not go back, if he can find something else he would rather do. He says he is just completely burnt out from the pressures of Covid, lack or respect being given to teachers, micro management of teachers etc.
He actually misses the kids, but just felt he needed a break.

I'm on TRT and got Covid last month.
Had to be tested pre surgery and found out I had it otherwise I just thought I had allergies. Just a stuffy nose and feeling a little under the weather. Once I knew I had Covid I felt a little achy but it may have been mind over matter. No fever at all.
Been vaccine and double boosted so I guess that helped. Testosterone replacement so my numbers must have been normal to high.

Yes, I had the "PAXLOVID prescription" plan set up wit my doctor. I reached out at the crack of dawn & the prescription order was placed immediately, as we had discussed together, in advance.

That strategy might be helpful to others here.

I will follow your advice, Sir Swan, and I am continuing to hydrate ~ lots of water, some cold iced tea that I brew fresh each day, and some icy lemonade ~ soothing to the "frog" that has taken up temporary residence within my throat!

Rest assured, I will be issuing THIS 🐸 "frog" an eviction notice!

A bit of a side note:
My best friend caught covid in Aruba. He had a fake vaccination card. He was airlifted to Albany where he died January 13th which is my birthday (will sadden me every birthday)
His wife still refuses to get the vaccine. I tried to push it but it's a sore spot and she gets very defensive. Her rationale is that the vaccine is not tested enough and she might get some horrible effect in ten or twenty years. I just let it go but in truth I just couldn't understand that rationalizing.
I'm teary eyed just thinking about my buddy Rafael. Too young!
