I went to the Doctor for my Prostate checkup and PSA results.
The Doctor told me, "Your PSA is still undetectable. I'm officially releasing you, you don't have to ever come back"
I look at him and said "I already feel lonely and unwanted"
He looked at at me stunned and then burst out laughing, We all laughed and nurses soon came to the room to see what was going on. Lots of hugs and good byes.
It's been eight years since surgery.

So you have no plans for monitoring your PSA? Or you're just joking?

Congratulations on successful treatments!

That being said, I will echo MATTAM's post ...

Not wanting to be the one to bring Grandma's old-fashioned sharp & pointed "hat pin" to this celebratory BALLOON party, but I feel an annual physical ~ including run-of-the-mill lab work AND an annual PSA test would ALWAYS be in a fellow's best interest.

And that plan would bring TRUE peace of mind ... and even more celebratory balloons, in my humble thoughts.

maybe he will follow up with GP? yeah he should especially since it was less than four years since SRT. nevertheless a great result!

The Oncologist told me to have my personal physician test it with my annual physical.

We all want to end up like your situation. The world is your oyster. Go forth and multiply. Time to start initiating your fantasies, bucket lists, no matter how far out.

Had Rip and Poach my prostate 9.5 years ago in spring of 2013. At 5 years later, when my psa was 1.17, enrolled in a PSMA f18 trial which turned up a couple of naughty lymph nodes in the nether regions. Along with some ADT and RT we cooked them and for the last 3.5 years have been undetectable, so RO told me, “ Super Dave, we have bigger fish to fry and since you have been sandbagging for the last 3.5 years, yor gone,”

So now it’s up to my GP to monitor psa.
What does a guy do now when he gets a get out of jail card free on his 73rd birthday?

I'm delighted that everything worked out well for you and that your residual PCa evidently remained in the pelvis five years after surgery. I think that today, when men have persistent PSA after RP, they are usually advised to have adjuvant RT.

especially with g7 and a 100% and 95% core. am i correct in understanding he had SRT at .7 psa (at least)?

My boyfriend became detectable 7 years after surgery. Had salvage radiation 10 years after. Can never truly rest.
