Strange HW(?) Issue with emails

A fellow HWer mentioned he had issues with sending me an email. So I investigated. I tried to send him an email. It said my Yahoo email was out of date. I clicked on Learn More. It ended up on Microsoft Support and the Box BUY Microsoft 365. Huh? What does this have to do with Yahoo? Why are they trying to sell me stuff I don't need?

Well, further research reveals that MSFT owns Yahoo...sort of:

Anyway, you might want to send email to yourself (assuming you are allowing emails to yourself in HW settings: just click on your name, then click on your email address if listed. Did you get it?) What if you have a Yahoo-listed email address, say without a Microsoft account, especially without a MSFT-Outlook account.

Anyway, please comment. All this might merely be a Compiler issue!

My Dad has AT&T email which is handled by Yahoo and not much fun to work with. Always hard to configure with email programs. Part of it is everyone is on the security bandwagon now and it does not take much to trip their systems. I will send you a test.

Did you receive the reply that I sent on your question?

The college email IT department has gotten very picky on what they allow to go through. I talked to them about it and they said that their lawyers/insurance people were forcing the changes.
