Orgovyx Information (please) Thread

Well, my PSAs have started rising. I have one more late next week. In the past, Lupron/Casodex has successful knocked the snot out of my PSA's. Dr. Lam has suggested that I do Orgovyx next time. I have a video chat with him on the 16th. Barring a pleasant PSA surprise I will need to start it PDQ*!!

Soooo... if you have some experience/knowledge about ORGOVYX, can you please share it?

Mel, I started ADT with Firmagon last October. I had an immediate reaction and after a month was switched to Orgovyx. From the start and continuing I get a little tired in the afternoon and take a short nap. I have great energy in the morning and after the nap. I have gained weight which I try to knock down with diet and exercise. It will come right back if I cheat on the diet or not work out. Hot flashes, more like sweating for two or three minutes, if I eat spicy foods or get overheated. That is still going on after a year. I have no brain fog or lack of intellectual ability. I take one pill a day in the morning, which I have tried to move to a later time to see if the tiredness goes away in the afternoon. It doesn’t matter when I take it, I still get tired in the afternoon. Maybe that is because of being 70. I have had no urinary issues since the radiation and while on ADT. My PSA results started down and have stayed down over the year. I am due this December for another test. Orgovyx is expensive and I have had help from my Uro’s office to keep the price in check. I don’t know how all of this compares to what you were on, but so far it is working and that is all that matters. My best to you.

Substantially more expensive than Lupron.

Advantages of Orgovyx are:
No testosterone flare, hence no need for Casodex
It acts more rapidly (lowers testosterone) than Lupron
May be 'safer' for patients with certain cardiac issues
It washes out more rapidly than Lupron
One a day pill (for some this may be a disadvantage, because one can miss a dose)

Disadvantages have been mentioned earlier in this thread.
