Undetectable

I went for my post op follow-up appointment Tuesday. The doc asked about my continence and how many pads I was using. I told her I do t use them during the day at home at all and only leak when I do something stupid like try to pass gas or get up off the floor too quickly when playing with the dog. I told her I had a light pad in that day because it was going to be my first day back to the office.

I still wear the pad at night just in case. I did try one night without it and had no issues. I am just not brave enough to try again yet.

She said I am way ahead of the game and if I had told her I was fully soaking 5 heavy duty ones it would have still been ok.

Looks like I will be good in time on that.

She asked about erections and I said none, but I didn’t know I was supposed to be trying. She giggled and said I wasn’t, but I could now if I wanted. I am still taking a viagra 20mg and cutting them in half as directed. Occasionally when a certain scene comes on tv or a movie I fell a little something (and for reference, you do lose one length after surgery) but reach down to check and nothing happened.

She said that I am having that feeling already is a good sign and that it can take up to 2 years.

She cleared me to go back to working in the office and getting back on the road at work. My first flight will be Monday.

I am also cleared to go to the gym. She said to take it really slow since I have t done anything in 6 weeks and there is still a slight chance for a hernia.

They sent me upstairs for my PSA test. The vampire did his job, and off to the office I went. I will not lie, 4 days in a row at the office wore my butt out.

I am the guy that hates waiting for results so I was pushing the my health app every 15 minute that afternoon. I couldn’t sleep the day before the visit and definitely couldn’t waiting overnight (no sleep). Another 6 hours of hitting the app the next day until I see a message and get a call from the nurse. Apparently my platelet count wasn’t low anymore. It clotted before they could process it and I would have to take it again on Thursday ;2 more sleepless nights).

Today on my third attempt with the app there was a message. PSA undetectable!!!!!! Continue with the 6 month appointment for the next test.

We celebrated with a steak dinner tonight. I am sure I will sleep good!!

One other event today. We have been in 3 am days of meetings to kickoff our 2023 strategies, and I got the news about 10:15. I was happy but just kept working. We finished at lunch time and I went up to my desk. My admin assistant was walking past my door and I stopped her. When I told her she said she new something was going on because my face looked different than the past few days. She went to get me something and when she came back she asked if I was ok.

I was trying to write a email but had started crying. In that short time it hit me that this over 4 year boulder was taken off my shoulder. It told her that and she almost started crying too.

I have only cried at the office one other day. It was 11-1-18. The day they told me I had cancer. These were definitely different tears today.

Thank you guys and gals for all the support over these 4 years. It will never be forgotten and I am not going away now just because of the results.

This forum is great and I refer it to everyone that I know who either gets the diagnosis or who already has it, but still doesn’t know what to do.
