Paul -- Do you track the time at which your blood draws are done? Time of day is important for T measurements, as the body's natural cycles generate its highest reading in the early morning, shortly after waking (remember morning wood?).
Now, if you want to know peak value, test in early morning. If you are just tracking trends, any time will do, as long as you are consistent.
In my case, since all of my T is purchased at the mail-order pharmacy and is applied in the early morning, my uro and I have decided that a mid-day blood draw gives us the best understanding of average level and trends. I track test results in a spreadsheet, including date, time and measured results. I started this a number of years ago, and the notes surrounding various measurement anomalies have helped me to maintain some level of sanity over the years.
Paxton,
Interesting stuff, thanks. I always get tested between 8:00 - 9:00 am.
