Swan - My urologist told me that I know more about PCa than most doctors at the end our last annual visit.

When I went to my PCP last week about
a vitamin B12 deficiency I saw someone new because my PCP was no longer there. I showed him my lab panel ordered by another doctor listing the B12 as off the chart low. He didn't ask me any questions about
my diet. My diet consists of many animal products that should give me plenty of B12. And maybe he didn't know people over 60 may not absorb B12 from food or oral tablets. He just starting typing, saying he was prescribing B12 pills. I wouldn't have known how to discuss it had I not Googled or heard the experiences of Forum members. Fortunately, I left with a prescript
ion for B12 injections.
I guess doctors can't know everything about
every condition, but if they don't know, at least they could leave the room and look it up. Sometimes it seems like they are more interested in getting you out in 20 minutes so that they can see the next patient.
Forums and Dr Google may not always be good, but sometimes they definitely are good.
