The USPSTF has since moderated their stance against PSA testing, but I firmly believe that testing should be lifelong. My neighbor religiously had testing until he was about 70. He stopped because of the advice against testing older men. Now, he has stage 4 PCa.
I’m not in favor of low risk men jumping into unnecessary treatment. But, diagnosis should be non-controversial and universal.
yeah i agree. i know you remember what was going on back then. we even had a forum member who after being successfully treated for high risk prostate cancer at a fairly young age became a paid "advocate" against PSA testing for younger men
