I had the same procedure done four years ago. My stricture was quite bad that I was unable to void. Urethrotomy supposedly is not a permanent treatment, based on an old study, it usually lasts four years or less.
My stricture is narrowing again to the point where adult cystoscope won't be able to pass through, however, I am still able to urinate but the flow is very weak. There is this new drug coated stent (Optilume) that was FDA approved recently, depends on how long and where your stricture is, Optilume, can be an option if you need to do another urethrotomy.
