Xmaslover, G6 is relatively good news. We have folks here who have been on AS for years, with no sign of needing treatment. So thats really good.
I don't want to complicate your seemingly simple straightforward situation. But just a suggestion, for an extra measure of safety... get a second opinion on the slides from Johns Hopkins. Reading prostate slides has an element of subjectivity to it. And many local pathologists read all kinds of slides, not just prostate. Jonathan Epstein and his team at Hopkins are solely focused on reading Prostate slides and are known as the gold standard. If you ask your urologist to send the slides to Jonathan Epstein at Johns Hopkins, he will likely know exactly what to do. If not, just google "second opinion service prostate pathology Hopkins"
My biopsy was Gleason 8(3+5). Slides were sent to Epstein, who I spoke with on the phone after he read them, and he said G6 (3+3). His opinion was later confirmed by MSKCC Pathology. This completely changed my course of treatment.
