My 7 Year Checkup Next Week

It's been 7 years since my the Cyber Knife removed my prostate at age 47. PSA has been 0 every year since then. Next week is my annual physical to check again after another year. Fingers crossed. Still dealing with the twin curses ... ED and incontinence. I gave up on tri-mix injections (as well as both Viagra and Cialis previously) about 3 years ago due to debilitating headaches and what I believe is tri-mix induced extreme tinnitus 24x7. Daytime pads and night diapers are my choice of dealing with wetness. I'm still working full-time and limited socializing but always know the location of the nearest restroom at all times. "Frequent urination anxiety" sets in about 15 minutes after any intake of any liquid as my bladder recognizes its got water, and when the urge hits I've got about 60 seconds to find the exit. I won't complain since this is what I knowingly signed up for 7 years ago before surgery. Wish me luck.

Had we grown up in the same hometown, we would have been in high school during the same era.

I wanted to say that your post shows resolute and steadfast resolve in dealing with side effects.

Caleb, You're not alone. I've ED and incontinence big time as well but it's been only 5 years since my Robot. I don't like it one bit and have become pretty much a recluse as a result, but it's easier for me as I'm 77 and haven't worked in about 20 years. The surgery was supposedly nerve sparing, but my Johnson takes an opposing view. Nonetheless, it beats a dirt nap.

Yes, time to celebrate. My PSA is still 0.01 after all these years. And even though I don’t appreciate wet day pads, night diapers, and no intercourse, I’ll definitely take the cancer-free diagnosis every single day. My bride and I have never been closer in spite of it all.
