I wanted to also share that it was IMPERCEPTIBLE, but there came a day when I suddenly REALIZED my energy level was slowly ramping back up.
I wasn't so weary. I could accomplish more tasks without resting. My trail walks got longer and longer.
I'm a teacher. My radiation treatments were in the spring, from March through May.
I had the summer to rejuvenate, which was a silver lining, after nine weeks of radiation.
By August, and "Back To School" ~ I was feeling restored, in terms of energy.
During that rejuvenation period, however, I learned to set limits. I prioritized essential tasks, because as bedtime approached, I would suddenly hit a "wall" and needed to get to bed when that happened.
I was very selective about social events and get-togethers.
There was no way I could go to a rock concert and go to work the next day. Going to a favorite restaurant on a Saturday seemed more reasonable.
During treatments, I taught full-time, and dashed for each treatment right after school. I took a walk right after that, then needed evenings and weekends to rest and relax.
I just wanted to reassure you that the fatigue will pass. It's not overnight. It takes time. But, how you feel today will change ~ and improve. I just want to share that message of encouragement with you today.
My radiation treatments were impactful, in terms of effectiveness. Those treatments continue to pay dividends today. Hang onto that thought, above all else!
Supportive thoughts sent your way ~
