When Should I Be Concerned About My PSA

Hello, all. When should I be concerned about my PSA and whether if it's only a bounce? In early 2020, I was treated with a combination of six months of bicalutamide 50mg, and HDR-BT. Because of COVID-19, I had to wait a year before I had my 1st. PSA after treatment. I've had a few bounces and even though I was told PSA bounces were to be expected, it's been about three years and seven months. When looking at my most recent PSA, you'll notice it went up again.

So, my question is this recent PSA something I should be concerned about?
When does the PSA begin to level off to where there's no longer any bouncing?

My MedOnc looked at two consecutive PSADT increases where the doubling increases were less than 6 months each.
Your last pair of PSAs are about a 3 month doubling time.

If your next PSA is in that same direction, then you'll need to talk with with your Oncologist for next steps.

I see that, maybe make in 3 times in a row without going down at all then.
Short doubling times are serious things.
All I'm saying is, after a set of increases, maybe scans are in order.
My favorite are PSMA PET scans, bone and CTs generally don't show anything until PSA gets closer to 10.

In my journey, I noticed as I got closr to CR, my doubling time went from close to a year to 6 months to 2 months to 2 weeks. Scared the sh iite out of me!

But I agree with you, be careful on monitoring!!

To me it looks like post radiation bouncing around. Something to monitor but not lose sleep over
