Hey Guys,
I haven't been around here in a while and see many new "faces".
I am hosting GFMPH NY 2023 from Sept 28 until Oct 1 in Rochester this year. That is only 3 weeks away! I have lots of room for campers and RVs with water and electrical hook ups. I've also made arrangements at a local hotel at a substantial discount if you prefer. (Yes, I played the cancer card.)
In case you're not familiar.with the term, "GFMPH" stands for "Good For Men's Prostate Health." It started out as a joke here back in 2009 when a couple of us made a big discovery! We could get anything we wanted by just saying: "I heard that 'whatever it is' is Good For Men's Prostate Health." If you say it with a sincere look on your face that's even better. "Honey, I heard that a snowblower is good for men's prostate health." Boom! Delivered by Amazon the next day. "I heard that a daily massage is GFMPH." Done!
We've been getting together ever since with gatherings in Rochester NY, Baton Rouge LA, and Orlando FL.
The only requirement for attendance is you need to have rotten or missing prostate or be the caretaker/partner of someone with PCa. Don't worry. We don't check prostates at the door.
We respect everyone's privacy. Real names don't have to be used.
Dinners and some lunches are provided. Cookers and grills are here if you want to make your own. We have a few scheduled activities. Our group meeting takes place around a campfire and lasts about an hour so the guys can update each other and ask questions. On Saturday evening we will have an ice cream truck from a local dairy park on site and they will serve ice cream sundaes as long as you keep ordering them. (I played the cancer card, again!)
There are a couple of local festivals taking place that weekend so you can sight-see on your own. Niagara Falls, Finger Lakes, Hilton Apple Festival and car show, Jello Museum, George Eastman House, Strong Museum, etc.
It's is a fun time and a chance to meet and greet each other.
I have heard from about 20 old timers on the Facebook Page.
So, New Guys! ... Are you game? Tell your partners attendance is GFMPH!!!

Sr Sailor It has made a big difference in peoples' lives. We have people showing up from all over the country.
Right now we have folks from: Louisiana, Florida, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Ontario Canada, New York, +.
It sounds crazy but the instant you get here it's like we've all known each other for decades. We all understand the issues that accompany the disease: side effects, meds, etc. I have virtually every size pee pad known to man in stock just in case anyone needs it!

Many of us have traveled around and visited other families that we met at GFMPH.

Worried Guy, I had been thinking of you lately, and wondered how you were doing. My trip up there about ten years ago was fantastic and I got to meet you, and Sonny and a number of others. My traveling days have been curtailed but hopefully that will change. Great to hear from you.

That was fun. Was that the year Sonny and Sherri got married here?
I have made many improvements to the property since then. I rebuilt my barn and surrounded with a concrete pad about 12 ' wide for parking other vehicles. Next to that is another ~1000 sq ft concrete pad on the south side perfect for more vehicles And I added another 1000 sq ft crushed stone pad next to that! I can land helicopters there! I redid the driveway with 25 tons of compacted crusher run.
We also enlarged the patio for the third time and I am having a permanent 20 x 10 ft shelter installed next week. Busy!

Jeff, that is some major updates on your property. Do you on that Lake home during the winters. I wasn't up there the year Sonny got married, but I remember meeting Andrew "in the shop" and I think Bohemod. Great time had by all.

Sorry I won't make it yet again... That's the same weekend for my high school's 50th reunion... It's also be my first trip back to Dallas since I moved to Florida 2.5 years ago.

I did make it to 4 or 5 Baton Rouge LA gatherings... They were so fun I lost count...

Jeff - wasn't there a lot of FIRSTS for you at the Baton Rouge LA gathering.... I still remember you wearing white jeans and a white dress shirt to the crawfish boil. LOL (sorry i couldn't resist)

Yikes! We are 2 weeks away! I have a lot of ice cream that needs to be eaten!

Yes I did get my clothes "a little messy" at the crawfish boil. I also squirted some juice on Clearwater Cowboy's hat! Even after that unintentional insult he still came to my house a couple of times.
Fun.

Come on guys! We need new stories.

Bring your drones if you have them. We will be playing over the Bay.
I'll also have a thermal imager and an ultrasound machine - with spare probes of course - in case you're wondering whether that lump is a boy or a girl.

I have been to several of these but next week will be our first visit to GFMPH in New York. I encourage people to join in for a great social event. Always enjoyable and a real celebration of friendships developed through our mutual experience

This is great!!! We are only 3 days away! Most people show up on Friday but early birds fly in on Thursday. We can handle it. smile

Also the Hilton Apple Festival will be in full swing so you can stop there and taste "all things Apple" - Apple fritters, apple pie, apple sausage , apple sauce, apple cider......

Come on over New Guys! Take the risk! It's worth it. You'll be laughing the whole time.

We are all packed and ready to get on the jet to fly there. Seems odd to me that we won’t be driving the Coach to have an extended stay. We must get back home as soon as the event is over. Big Europe trip a week after we get home.

It is always such a charge to visit with our friends and meet any new people that come by for the festivities.

Fun, laughs, eats, games, camp fire, and most important Friends for life.

The last person is has gone and everything is so quiet. We're sorting out leftovers and missing you already!
So much good info was shared, friendships rekindled and departed loved ones were honored. (For sure a couple of us will be looking at that new adjustable sling when our next replacement are due.)

We'll sleep well tonight!

Wonderful weekend with great friends. Thanks again to our very gracious and attentive hosts. Great activities, wonderful weather and far too much food and drink.

And the spring meet in Baton Rouge dates were established for the weekend of April 18. Hope to see many new friends joining in so this gives everyone ample time to plan.

We had guests from Louisiana, Penn., Mass, Ohio, Colorado, Georgia, New York and Ontario Canada, making it an international event!
Almost all the chicks are back in their respective nests.
Most everything is cleaned up and put away.
We're ready for the next big event - and a 2 day nap!

What an amazing weekend. Awesome conversations and meals. The host couple could not be nicer to all of us. Thanks to each of you that attended for making this so heart warming.

Mark your calendars, the next GFMPH is going to be in the Baton Rouge area. We call it GFMPH Cajun Style. Date April 18 - 21, 2024. All are welcome. We will have hotel info as it gets closer. I have space for campers and RVs. Let the Good times Rolll.

In 2014 or 15 we had one in Orlando, Mims, hosted by Sonny and his wonderful wife.
We can keep it in mind.

Where are you? We go to Miami occasionally to visit relatives.
