Completed one year of eliguard one year ago along with the external beam radiation and hdr. Realized last night that my underarm pubes have fallen out. Has anyone else experienced this.

Glenny,
I am working on year 11 of Lupron, and most of my body hair is now gone. The hair on my head is still there, and eyelashes, but that is about
it. On the positive side, lupron continues to keep my psa at.000, so while the hair issue bothers me at times, being alive and undetectable takes the cake. Welcome to HW.

Yes sir. Had IMRT and only 6 months of ADT. Lost armpit and chest hair. Over 4 years since treatment and nothing has grown back. Take care.

Yeah, as Michael said, I still have my head hair and eyelashes. Otherwise, the rest is just about
all gone. Makes life easier in some ways. I shave once a week and rarely trim my nose hairs. It's free manscaping, and that's the cool thing these days. 😀

had the big surgery 4 years ago and on Lupron/Eligard ever since with one short vacation.
Lost my chest and underarm hair shortly after surgery but my head hair continues to grow. I let in go for two years after since i was told I might need radiation in the future, which never happened! When I cut it at my two year anniversary of the surgery it was 21 1/2 inches long ,so I sent it to a Kids cancer program for wig material. They didnt care that it was from a 66 year old guy with grey on top but light brown in the pony tail. Now, 4 years later my Psa jumped from 0.5 to 5.4, so more eligard plus Xtandi for 3 months till it stopped working, now on Zytiga with few side effects. Am growing my hair out again anticipating any further treatments from the Oncology team I have inherited...

Hi Glenny,
Yah, most of my body hair, other than my head hair, eye brows and lashes, went bye-bye for several months. But, most of it has come back, thinner than before, but it's back. I was on Lupron for 21 months and 44 sessions of EBRT. My PSA has been <0.06 for the past year + and the hair loss has been worth it to get to get that < symbol.
Good luck and remember, it's only hair.

6 months on Firmagon/Lupron, lost armpit hair, most of pubic hair around “groin”, and chest hair, also upper leg hair. All grew back except the upper leg hair, only at top of thigh, rest of leg hair intact.
Guess I was lucky

10 years on Lupron (and other treatments) and lost the hair on my legs, underarms, upper arms, and chest. The best news (besides that I'm still here) is that BO is not a problem anymore.

I never had much in the way of underarm hair to begin with... (only did surgery)
BUT, I shaved my pubic hair ten plus years ago to use the darn PUMP....and the pubs basically didn't grow back. The pump didn't do much either.

I always referred to my three years on ADT as “reverse puberty”. Lost most body hair and beard even softened so went to every other day shaving. about
9 months after the last shot most grew back except legs.

After 13+ plus years at this, have lost much of my body hair. I once observed to my wife that she had more leg hair than me. You can imagine how well that went. Didn’t restore the bling to my crown though — dead follicles stay dead. Have nice eyebrows though.

Mine also all fell out...excepting nose, eyebrows and ears. Now have a great crop in those places that I have to keep cutting, the rest has kinda come back except leg hair.
Yeah, pump is boring especially without T or libido, but I don't want ossification so I still use it once a week or so to try and keep the blood flowing in that area. Really glad to be off the chems, at least for now.

Just finished up 18 mths of ADT. I had salvage radiation 14 mths ago. Salvage radiation made my pubic hair fall out. It has since grown back. The ADT has eliminated leg and arm hair. I have very little left on my chest and underarm. No problems with eyebrows, eyelashes and head. I have definitely noticed what DYank said above, if there's one good thing about
ADT, it's that I have no body odor. That's not enough to offset all of the bad side effects that go with ADT. Still hoping that most if not all of the side effects will start to lessen or disappear now that I'm done with ADT.

JNF - No, I did not know that loss of body odor was a common side effect....... Still doesn't offset all the other nasty side effects that come with ADT.......

Dave, my interpretation is that JNF is saying (jokingly) that you may still stink, but you can't tell because ADT may have wrecked you sense of smell. 😀
