Transition time

Good for you, I expect that you will do just fine. This is quite the roller coaster ride, isn't it?

I started on six month Lupron shots. It smashed my testosterone level to undetectable for the whole time. Frankly, I've never understood why people on long term ADT take shots at short intervals. I suspect it's because the injection process is profitable for the doctors, so they want to do it frequently. But then I do tend toward cynicism!

I have been on the once-a-month shot for over ten years, since diagnosis.

The first two kinds of injections did not suppress my testosterone. So, it was easier to then try a third form, which did the trick. ZOLADEX.

Also, my trusted oncologist feels a six-month injection would result in greater fatigue. My energy levels remain high. So, that's why I have stayed with my current regimen.

Recently, since the monthly shot "lingers" in one's system, anyway, I now get an injection every five weeks, instead of every four weeks. That way, I don't have to return to the clinic quite so often, over the course of a year.

Just some first-hand experiences to share ...

Curious, is your PCa service-related?

I had no idea mine could be until I saw that a law was passed relating exposure to burn pits and PCa. I'm now 100%, but left a year's worth of payments on the table through my ignorance.
