Time Has Passed

In some ways it seems like yesterday. It was on Valentine's Day 2013 I had surgery to remove my prostate. Salvage Radiation came a little over a year later. This summer I will have been in remission ten years. While I am so happy and thankful to be one of the lucky ones to win the cancer battle, it hasn't been without some ups and downs. The biggest down, and the reason for this post, is that cancer may not have killed me but it has left me with a less than satisfying life. I have been blessed (cursed) with 100 percent incontinence. In order to have some semblance of life I have to use a penile clamp. Without it, I leak constantly and can easily fill 30 pads a day. So for sanitary and monetary reasons I am hooked up to a penile clamp just about 24/7. I have learned to live with it, although there are times it can be very painful to wear due to the pressure. I have not been able to find anything that can provide temporary relief from the clamp. I have tried an external catheter with very little success and I even used reuseable underwear for incontinence but I have to change them about as often as a pad and they leaked badly. Anyone out there got any solutions?

My mistake. Guess I should have mentioned that nightmare but it is something I am trying to forget. I had an AUS implant in 2017 and almost died from it because the device was defective. I detailed my experiece back then. I had it removed and had no desire to try it again. But thanks for responding!

Thank you for the kind words. Also, thanks for sharing the article...it was very interesting reading. The most time I have ever had a catheter is two weeks. I can't imagine have one for years and years and years.
