I was diagnosed with a very aggressive PC at age 45 on February 14th, 2017. I was told I had 2 years to live that very day. My life turned upside down, having two very young kids at the time. I went through the darkest time of my life for 2-3 months, experiencing all sorts of emotions after the diagnosis. Then, I decided not to allow the fear of mortality to prevent me from living the rest of the time I have. Around the same time, I read a post from a patient on this very same forum who had lived the past 7 years with a similar diagnosis, which made me extremely hopeful about the future. It was still very difficult emotionally and physically, going through HRT, Brachytherapy, Chemotherapy, and all other treatments.

I just stopped by to say never lose hope.

We sometimes talk here about triple plays (two kinds of radiation + ADT) for contained high-Gleason cancers, but you had a quadruple play. And it seems to have worked; your current 'numbers' look great!
I imagine you had taxotere chemotherapy; how many cycles?

Way to hang in there! That's very impressive. Is your PSA still staying down? Maybe you can stop by more often. There's plenty of guys who can use the hope.

Yes I did 8 Taxotere Chemo.

I sure will do. I'm testing every 6 months and yes it was below 0.1.

Both of us have common threads in our "story" ~ I was diagnosed in my 40s, with a PSA that was skyrocketing over 100, and prostate cancer had already infiltrated both of my lungs.

I have pursued TAXOTERE chemotherapy, 45 radiation treatments, and have been on ZYTIGA (Abiraterone Acetate) for quite a few years. I check in with my oncologist every five weeks, and have also consulted with Dr. Kwon at Mayo Clinic.

Last fall, I marked ten years of survivorship.

I, too, found lifelines of hope and solace and encouragement right here on this website.
