Pain after RP

Hello - I am about 5 weeks or so post RP. I was wondering if anyone has experienced or is experiencing perineal discomfort. Sometimes it will occur if standing too long or when first sitting or getting up. It sometimes feels it’s like pressure in the rectum. Obviously the prostate was removed from that exact area and there are an endless number of nerve endings down there so it only makes sense. It doesn’t seem to be widely discussed as a post surgical experience. Just wondering how prevalent it is.

Been a while for me now. I definitely recall a perineal ache when sitting in an upright chair and had a pillow I dragged around for a while. Do not recall issue when standing but that means little with my fading memory of those days…

I found the recovery process a long haul with all sorts of odd aches and pains. It took a while before I felt “normal” which was measured in months, not days or weeks. The first few days I felt like I got run over by an ambulance at the hospital. The catheter-out visit at 10 days was the first turning point where I felt a lot better then things kept slowly improving. Every guy has a different experience and everything is generally “normal” with great latitude (unless you can’t pee or have a fever).

It’s been 11years sinceRP and what I remember was the catheter being a pain. Walked every day for a month after surgery then riding road touring bike for 6 weeks before a bike trip in Europe.
I did not have the problem you are facing but we all are different.
The walking I believe really speeded up my recovery.
