This thread virtually qualifies as Friday Humor, in view of the topic, the idea that the tenets of astrology could really explain causality of disease in us.
But "medical astrology" as it came to be known has existed since ancient times, as far back as Babylonia from what I read while websurfing the other night, and up until about
the 18th century it was taken very seriously.
The essential premise of it was that all disease was a function of the positions of the various planets in the twelve zodiac regions of the sky. One planetary arrangement would be responsible for good health circumstances, while another would be the cause of bad health arising in us. The planet Saturn in particular was thought to be a real troublemaker for poor health, its position in one's "chart" at any given time being a concern. And people with chronic poor health were thought to have been born under a bad sign, literally, when the planetary configurations on their birth days were not good.
The first article below goes into detail on the mechanics of how medical astrology presumably worked. It shows just how much detail the practice actually had in its structure. For example, in the twelve "houses" it presents, which are said to rule the various body parts, cancer is listed in the "third" house, while prostate issues are actually specified as being in the "seventh" one.
Why is this so? Well, as one would expect, there is no scientific basis at all either for the existence of these "houses," or even how the positions of the planets somehow would impact the health of any of us. It all just evolved in a pseudo-scientific manner over the centuries.
But here are the mechanics of it:

And it does show that the science that replaced it is such a far better way to go.
