Just read a report with him explaining his situation and imploring men to check their PSA. At age 54 his PSA was elevated and his doctor initiated testing protocol and resulted in surgery. Some excellent quotes from Mourning.

Wish him well and appreciate his going public with the information.

Nobody is immune, obviously. To me, as a player, he was larger than life.
