OT - Finally lost my virginity

So an update: Thought I and my wife would be done with this by now. But we are still testing positive as of this morning. tomorrow will be two weeks since my mild cough first appeared, Wednesday will be two weeks that I had full blown symptoms and felt really bad for a few days, and Thursday will be two weeks since I tested positive. I don't know what the benchmark is which is why I mention all these dates.
My wife is two days behind me. She is feeling pretty much back to normal, she tested positive this morning but the pink line was very faint.

I am still pretty tired, and get exhausted easily. Blood pressure 150/75, higher than usual. My cough is not that frequent, only once in a while, but I am still pretty congested. Hope this doesn't last too much longer, I know it can.
We haven't socialized at all. I forced myself today to go out and do a 20 minute walk, got home, wiped out.

Life goes on, I'm sure I'll be ok soon. I'm fully vaxxed and boosted including the most recent booster, this past fall.

There have been over 7,000,000 deaths from covid world wide up until now, affecting every country no matter where you are in the 1st, second or third world. When at its height and before vaccinations,, covid changed everything in our lives. Now, at least where we live, people hardly talk about it. It seems that the flu has much more of an impact than covid as I write this.
Last February, this strain of flu/bronchitis was rampant around our ski community. My wife and I contacted it from the little ones who live with us on weekends, holidays. We tested positive for covid in the fall. Nothing worse than a cold with some fatigue(fully vaccinated/boostered). The flu on the other hand, even though it did not have the achey feeling, went into the upper lungs area and symptoms lasted almost a month and this was during our xc racing season which was a bummer.

Getting back to covid, I remember when in January,2018, a mysterious disease was killing people in Europe and then later on it moved over to the states. Some of our group had tickets to fly to Italy for ski competitions when they were cancelled at the last minuit. We had a 2 month hiking/biking trip planned also in Europe during the summer that was cancelled due to the travel restrictions.

There was a sad covid story that I read about in January/February?2018, regarding deaths in an extended family back east. This family was Italian American, hardworking, sociable and suddenly after a brief illness, family members were ending up on ventilators and eventually dying. No vaccinations had been developed as of yet. Later on in the disease cycle, statistics gathered from covid deaths showed a correlation between the number of comorbidities and death. Life style choices and age had a large bearing on who got sick and eventually recovered and who succumbed to covid.

There was mention of immune systems and why some people are negatively affected more than others from diseases/conditions. I know personally people over 80 who lived active, independent lives, who contracted covid before vaccinations and survived with no after effects while many of their peers in long term care facilities were dying in numbers. Something to think about as we get older. Healthy immune systems don't grow on trees. When the next no vaccines covid pandemic hits, will our physical/immune systems be strong enough to survive?

Prato, based on my non medical education I'd bet you are not contagious and haven't been for awhile. Did you happen to ask your Doc? My brother-in-law just went through that & his Doc gave him the ok to travel. Like you already know, everything takes longer to heal the older we get. Hope you both feel super jolly soon.

Haven't asked my doc, because 1. he's hard to get to and 2. he's like everyone else, he doesn't know for sure. Anyway, I went to a party yesterday, as I agree with you that I am highly unlikely to be contagious at 3 weeks out
