Some general comments:
. A gleason score of 3 is relatively low.
. most gleason scores are in the intermediate range of 6 (eg: 3+3) or 7.
. 8 or 9 are high risk with poor prognosis.
. I always suggest people obtain the book "Prostate Cancer Prevention and Cure" by Lee Nelson which covers diagnosis, treatment, lifestyle changes, nutrition etc.
. On CAT and MRI, Lee Nelson said, "I think they're generally overrated and over used. In my opinion they're often not worthh the time, money, discomfort and anxiety. This it especially true for men with Gleason scores of 6 or less, clinical stage T2a or less and PSA's of 10 or less."
There are a lot of recent articles available in relation to recent extensive screening and "over treatment" of low risk PC.
