Blood in urine in 5th week after surgery

Gang,

Tell me if you had this experience. When I am bearing down to have a BM, I have serious blood in my urine. Only at that time. I am in my 5th week of recovery.

Hi JJK,

5th week seems like time enough to heal. You should contact your urologist with this information to be safe.
In the mean time to reduce the strain of bowel movements; maybe a stool sofener of some kind will help.

I thought the same thing since it only started two weeks ago after healing.

I am going in on Tuesday to see the boys. I wil let you know what's up.

JJK,

I had some blood in my urine at the fourth week after surgery and when I saw my urologist for my six week post op appointment I mentioned it to him. He told me that it was not unusual and that I might have some for up to 8 weeks after the surgery. I have not had anymore since the 4th week and I am now at the 8 week mark. I do not think that it is out of the ordinary and I am sure the the "boys" will tell you the same thing. By the way, I did not have any blood in my urine until the second week after surgery.
