I live northeast of Colorado Springs in a town called Peyton. Kind of hard to find but it's on hwy 24 heading toward limon.

Hope everything is going good for both of you. Tell Ken I'll be rooting for him and hope we both regain all normal function soon. it will be next Thursday I get the catheder out then it will be the pads.

We got about 6 to 8 inches out where I live and it's still coming down. I love snow storms and since I don't want to go into town until next week this is great.

As for BMs I've had about three. It started out liquid and starting to get more solide. (I don't want to get gross either) The day after the surgery the nurses were comenting on how well the sound of my digestive tract was. I guess I've been lucky.

My doctor told me I would likely get my results by next monday and call me silly but I would rather not get them on friday the 13th.

I need some information, help whatever

Today I had dry throat for the better part of the day and started to cough and with each cough I would leak. I mean my urine would escape from around the catheder and this also happened when I laughed too hard while watching comedy. Is this normal? Is my catheder loose or something? should I be concerned?

this has depressed me a great deall

Alex - don't worry about the urine leakage . . . annoying but normal! Bob had to wear a pad the whole time just to catch it. You'll be glad to get rid of Mr. "Hang" for sure.

Hi Alex,

I had some blood when I pushed too hard during BM. It stopped when I softened up and quit squeezing so hard. Sounds normal to me...

Hey Alex,   It’s the norm…. so keep laughing!!!!   It is ....the best medicine!!      ** Partial Excerpts: from Dr. Walsh’s book (in BLUE ink) ** Leakage around the catheter: Another scary phenomenon, this, too, is usually nothing to worry about .   Leakage can occur when you’re up walking around, or when you’re having a bowel movement.     ** Urinary sediment: Another common, disconcerting problem.   This can manifest itself in several ways.   You may see some old clots, which appear as dark particles, after you have had bloody urine.   These usually go away on their own.   Also, the pH balance of the urine (its acidity) changes throughout the day.   After a meal, for example, urine often becomes alkaline. There are normal substances in the urine called phosphates.   These can precipitate if the urine has too little acid, and can cause cloudy masses to appear in the urine.     ** The urine also may appear cloudy if you have a urinary tract infection….   Monitor for this if you see pus (thick yellow/greenish) pus is a tale tell sign of infection.   I’m pretty certain you’d have some burning sensation/pain with this also… (don’t confuse with mucus… mucus is a natural discharge when the penis is trying to get rid of the catheter (foreign object)   but we need Mr. Hang to allow proper healing… so put up with him for a few more days.)   Continue HealingWell……   Our thoughts and prayers are with you. a week since the surgery and still no pathology. Everyone including my wife believes it will be ok. OF cource they're not the ones that had cancer. I called today but they didn't have the results. The doctor said the lab was backloged so i'll just cross my fingers and hope.

I wasn't sure if I should post this and I'm not sure if it was an anomoly but last night something happened that is both encouraging and yet worriesome. I have been keeping my TV viewing to as G rated as I could so as to avoid anything of a sexual nature. Anyway despite this precaution I had a very explicit dream and in the process felt the "normal reaction" start to happen. Knowing this could be painful I came awake quickly and calmed myself down. Was this a positive sign or just an odd occurance? Is this normal?

I woke up early to tell the wife and she said I just wanted to brag. I don't think thats the case and even now I'm wondering if it happened even though I remeber reaching down to make sure and getting a positive. If I'm lucky it will be one of the first good things that has happened to me in the past five months. I hope it's was real

Oh wonderful news Alex! The tears are tears of joy and relief and we shed our own at the time too. Just like the weight of the world is lifted from your shoulders.

  J         Alex ~ Signature looks “great”!!!!   You might add the type of surgery you had.   Excellent news on the pathology report!!!   Yes ~ tears are indeed welcome… they help cleanse the spirit… so cry away my friend.       Glad to know the catheter “Mr. Hang” will soon be taking exit stage right!!!   Let you’re body heal before you start test driving **Mr. Hofer….. the One-Eyed Gopher!!!!                                                                                           (named by daveed    J   )   I bet if you looked closely….you’d find a lot of really good things that have happened to you over the past 5 months!!!   This seems to be a time where a lot of us truly find an inner peace that we may not have had, a relationship is more solid because of the sharing of this journey, many other happenings… and 1 definite… is you found “all of us”!!!  And you allowed us to walk with you on this path to becoming prostate cancer free!   Take care and it’s good to know things are going so well for you!
