Just an encouragement to all of you going through this procedure of having your prostate removed. My details are below but as a follow up, it has now been 14 months and all is pretty well back to normal as before the surgery. No problems with incontinence and no ED problems with or without medication (Cialis).

But patience is the key nono It will not all come back the next day. But for many, it will yeah

Hang in there, stay positive and try everything you are told.

Nice progress, Army!  I'm happy things are working out so well for you. 

Yes, patience is a virtue when it comes to this disease and the recovery progress.  Thank you for the inspiration.

Army,

Great outcome...how many times do you hear of a downgraded Gleason score?!
Sounds like things are steadily improving for you. It's good for all to hear and know that it can happen!

Great news Army! I am very happy thus far with my recovery after 5 weeks. If it weren't for the great support here and pushing the patience part of recovering from PCa it would have been more difficult.

Good news Army! I am 5 weeks out from surgery, and doing ok, fully continent, except for a few dribbles (which happened before surgery anyway) had a bit of a setback with wound, as I got impatient and did too much last week, and developed a slight opening along the stitch line, with some blood under the skin, so had to go back to the doc and have the blood removed with a fine needle (and got roasted by the Doc) so a warning to others, don't get impatient and strain yourself...the scar is healing ok now.

Sweating on the PSA, will know on 26th.

Congratulations and thanks for the post Army.  Your's is a story we all hope to have for ourselves.  On this board, it's nice to hear from you "Veterans" who are years out and still doing well  after surgery, post-op treatments etc.

Hi, sorry to not be around so much any more. Good news. My 19 month PSA was also undectable and next one scheduled for June 2008. All going great!!
