Thanks to all of you for your posts. I have been reading here for the last week or so. At times scared to death, at times very hopeful. I know it's all part of the process.
Me: 47, married, two kids, 14, 6. Father died in April of prostate cancer.
My Dr. has been doing PSA's for years just cause. In Jan, mine was 4.6. Biopsy shows nothing, but hi-grade PIN.
Oct. PSA was 5.06. Nov. 2 biopsy found one core positive - 20% of the sample. 3+3=6 gleason. Very early, they say/hope. I will do surgery.
Anyone have anything to say re: Sloan Kettering in NYC vs. NY Presbyterian/Columbia Univ? Hope to have DaVinci in NYC. i live an hour north of city.
I have an appointment with both. Also seeing Aaron Katz (Prostate health book) for any other ideas.
I bought Patrick Walsh book.
Talk about life changing in an instant! I very grateful this place is here!
Thanks
Paul
