Well guys, it has been a year since I found out I had prostate canceron January 29th 2007.  The time really went slow until I had my surgery on May 30th.  Since then it has flown by.  I guess I concentrated on work and my first grandson to get my mind off things.  My psa's have been less than 0.1 and I consider myself very fortunate.  I know there are other guys out there not as lucky, and I am constantly thinking and praying for you.  Good luck to everyone out there and keep in touch.

Way to go, my friend.  I am thrilled for you.  How's that kid of yours doing aviation-wise?  In case you didn't know, Mika Jr. got his commercial, multi-engine, and instrument ratings and is flying some fine business aircraft around the skies. 

I have met Mika, his bride and his son.  I would rather that we didn't have cause to meet, but since we did, it's a great experience to meet such high quality human beings.

Hey Mika,

Congrats on a year of big changes - hopefully all for the better. We are all so lucky to have the support of our families and the great people here on the forum. Where would we be without each other...

Congratulations on hitting the one-year mark, Mika.  My wife and I use these milestones as an opportunity to celebrate.  The time between my first increased PSA and diagnosis was three months, then it was another four months until I had surgery.  Time went by slower than in a laundromat.   Take care and hang in there...Tim

You ARE very fortunate and it's a great feeling to realize that, isn't it?

Nothing like your a grandchild to keep your mind busy...Don is fortunate too, in that our little granddaughter has been very much a part of our lives.

Hi Mika,

Congratulations!  Thanks for mentionning how time is relative. We are at the beginning at the ride and wonder when we start breathing again. But at the same time, I know it could be so much worse. That makes you appreciate your old partner! Enjoy life at any speed.

Ain't life grand?? If we had never developed PC, we would never have met each other and never realized our potential as giving, caring individuals. We would be just loping along through life thinking, "Oh that poor ****** got PC but that's never gona happen to me!" We have all changed for the better, in ways that the rest of the world could never understand. God bless you and Congrads on the 1st of many years my friend!

The 29th of 2007 was the day I also found out I has pc .yesterday I got the results of my lastest psa ,surgery last april radiation last fall psa dropped from 0.28 last august to 0.1 now Dr said it is going the right way

Hi, Mika.

I’m coming up soon on my one year anniversary of being diagnosed too. What a year it’s been. Yes, we've all changed but I believe we've all become stronger and better men for having gone through the PC experience. We are a special group. I don't take one day for granted anymore, and thank God every day for my good health.

Continued success to you and all PC survivors.

Great news, keep it coming. I am new to our little neighborhood and as I wait my surgery it fills my heart with Joy to hear good news like yours.

Congrats Mika! Enjoy that little grandson of yours! It does go fast after the surgery. Since my dad's surgery the end of August, I had a son, and it's hard to believe he is almost 4months old. God does provide blessings when you need them most. Glad you have your little blessing to keep you busy :) Congrats again!
