Hi, I was DX Nov '03,age 62, 1 of 8 +, gleason 3+3, psa 6.2.
I tried all the can't fail cures, fairly strict diet etc, monitored PSA monthly which hovered around 10.
Started using 'Prostasol" and later 'Quercetin +' [herbal estrogen]. this brought my PSA down to less than 1, which I maintained by varying the number of caps I took. Recent biopsy showed 3 of 10 +, 3 +4, I have decided that I have persevered long enough with the 'diet ' approach to no avail and I am going to have Brachytherapy late August. I have no regrets trying the natural remedies, but I think that the time is right for me to take more active intervention.

Welcome Chris,
This is the best place for patient interaction on the web. Your post is valuable. This says alot. Your approach to the natural remedies has to be considered. And your resulting to medical remedy is also valuable. I give you my fullest support in the best results of both of these approaches. Good Luck and God Bless.....

Hi Chris, and another welcome to the group.

You tried natural remedies for as long as you could. It is interesting that you have been able to reduce your PSA with the estrogen, but not, it seems, the cancer. I agree with your decision to now take stronger action. Brachy has a good chance of a "cure" -- there are threads here from others who have trod that particular path. Good luck!

Hi Chris and welcome to this great forum,

I admire your logical approach to your prostate problem including your final decision to attack the cancer more actively later this year. It is interesting to note that you where able to keep the PSA level quite low, but that this had little effect on the cancer itself.
Wishing you a full recovery from this disease later on this year.
