Dr. Krongrad in Florida. Anyone heard of him.

I was wondering if anyone has heard of this guy.  I posted a comment on another site and he emailed.  He has called me twice.  He seems ver interested in me.  I find it strange he has enough time to keep wanting to see how I am doing.  I googled him and I have found nothing bad about him, only good.  Anyone know anything about him.  He does laprascopic removal of prostates.

I have been to his website after being referred by Tony.  I do not know the doctor and would not like to say anything about him . In my humble opinion he is a surgeon and surgeons push for the most part their specialty.  He according to what I have read, believes that there should be clinical trials for proton therapy which I as a lay person and patient, personally totally disagree with. 

The best to you in whatever you do.

Yes, I know Dr. K.  And my oncologist has heard of him and met him as well.  Dr. Krongrad and Mike Scott have ventured before and created the first prostate cancer infolink many years ago.  They just introduced a new version of the site using new technologies and have invited many doctors and patients to participate.  As Richard says he is a surgeon, and will tell you openly that is his preferred method.  You can find Dr. Krongrad on google and other search engines, on dozens of site and pages.  You can also find the many different documents and books he has authored  easily.  We have had others come here as 'doctors' and not be able to find anything significant about them on the web.  I do not endorse him but can state that he is very provocative in his use of the web.  My oncology team has actually looked into this mans methods and remain skeptical but open about his use of the web.  Mr. Scotts interest philanthropy.  I find the discussions very interesting and actually enjoy membership.

BTW, Dr. K has actually recommended Proton therapy, Brachytherapy, and IMRT centers to some of the members at his site.  I find that interesting, and refreshing.  But he is skeptical about the long term effects of that treatment, much the same way a non-surgeon pushes his opposition to surgery.  In addition, to Dr. K at the site there are some very high profile members there as well ~ Terry Herbert, Cheif editor and operator of www.yananow.net, and Kathy Meade, Moderator of Yahoo's Prostate Cancer Forum.  I am also a member and have sent invites out to various members of different sites.  Again use you own judgement as to whether you would join or participate.  I would like to note that HealingWell has a much larger membership and a great interface we have all benefitted from.  And the core membership here is by far better, IMHO, than any other site I have visited.  But there are other members of other sites to draw from, and the New Prostate Cancer Infolink is merely one of those sites.  I have not received any solicitation from the site, and if such were happening that would definately disapoint me.  There are no requests for donation as far as I can see.

Dr Krongrad is the most genuine, sincere doctor we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. He answers his own emails, immediately follows up. His office is fantastic. My husband's surgery was very successful.

I too have personally met Dr K and can say without reservation that he is the real deal. Dr K has a huge passion for people as well as prostate cancer. What makes him even better is how approachable he is. He has never been my doctor due to the fact that I met after my treatment. If I lived anywhere in the south FL area I would choose him over anyone.

As I stated above ~ co-founder of the InfoLink. Every time I run into him he buys dinner...But then again we are friends...

His wife and mine have the same name, too...:-)

I am always suspicious of first time posters who come out and give glowing reviews of self promoting doctors.  If others had not agreed, I would have ignored your post.  Maybe you can tell us more about yourself and why it was important to 'defend' Dr Krongrad.  Thanks

Guys I understand the suspicion,
However, you won't find a trail here. I recuse myself to the other moderators. In my opinion Arnon's a good guy and well known for his work as a pioneer LARP surgeon. (laparoscopic versus laparoscopic and robotic). I do not promote him as I lack knowledge of his actual surgical results other than some well known public figures that also work for his foundations.

My husband's PSA kept going up finally when it reached 13 his Dr decided to do a biopsy, negative results. We moved from So Fl to central Fl. By recommendation we went to a Dr in Ocala, another biopsy, + results. This Dr did the DaVinci surgery procedure. 2 weeks before the surgery his office called and tried to scam $25,000. We had insurance and this Dr was in the network... he claimed that the INS Company did not pay him enough because it was an unspecified CPT code. I was in the health INS industry (Dir of UW) so I went right after her. To make a long story short, I went on the internet and found Dr. Krongrad. He answered our email at 10:30 PM. I emailed him all the lab, biopsy and other pertinent info. At 8:00 AM the very next morning his office called (his wife also works with him) and within 2 hrs everything was approved by INS Company and his surgery was scheduled. Surgery a complete success, no side effects. 6 years cancer free.

Dr Krongard has his own unit had Aventura Hospital in Aventura, Fl. DR Krongrad personally wheels his patients to the OR. I know because he insists that the spouse stays with the patient until he arrives to take him away. My husband has kept in touch with Dr Krongrad over the years. Not only is he a wonder Dr he is a great human being.

He's good. He removed my prostate several years ago, and I still remember that he was always attentive, before during and after surgery. Very unusual for doctors these days. I would send him an email and he would call me 10 minutes later, was truly a different doctor experience.

I had the surgery, and when in the hospital, the staff was also very attentive. I was told by a nurse that Kongrad demanded it from them for his patients. I was very impressed. And the best news is the surgery was a success, and i have been cancer free for many years,
