Hi Fancy,
And welcome to the site nobody wants to join. Unfortunaltely, stage 2 prostate cancer is cancer that has not spread outside the prostate. So if he has spread to intestines he is stage 4. It is very rare that PC spreads there first, but it is what it is. He was probably set at stage 2 after biopsy and a DRE (Digital Rectal Exam) and later updated to stage 4. This sounds scary Fancy, and it is, but there is lots that can be done. But to give advice more info is needed. If you look at my signature information below, you can see that I have been through quite a bit. But the information is clear to us here. Gleason sum, age, treatments he has received, PSA score, these are all things that help in understanding where he is right now. Feel free to ask any question. Below I have listed a site that has some outstanding information. It will help you understand the disease better.
