Hi to all.
I also had similar experiences to what I have read in these responses after my surgery. It is very evident that we all have different experiences based upon the type of surgery, the diagnosis, age and sexual ability before surgery, etc., etc., etc.
I am 14 months post surgery. I would like to let those that have recently had surgery, or may be facing surgery, that in my experience, my orgasmic pleasure has became better over time. Starting out, it did not seem to be as good as before surgery, but over time it improved. I think that part of this was overcoming the association of climax with ejaculation. Once I started focusing on the "feeling" of orgasm and disassociating it with ejaculation, it improved my orgasmic pleasure. Some men have found that more direct stimulation improves the experience, while I have found that slowing down and a more sensitive touch has improved the experience.
For me, the more firm and direct the stimulation, the more likely I am to become more desensitized. Therefore, the harder I tried the more difficult it became. It may be interesting for some of you to hear this, but this means that intercourse has improved my orgasm due to the less directed stimulation. The thing that makes this real interesting is that before surgery, my orgasm was more intense with more direct stimulation, and usually just intercourse did not provide enough stimulation to get over the top.
In regard to erections, after surgery I was able to achieve some engorgement, but not enough for satisfactory penetration. I have used Trimix injections, and was able to get an erection that was satisfactory for penetration, but it caused me other discomfort, like having an erection that lasted two hours or more. You may think that would be great, but it can be very painful and not a pleasurable experience at all. I adjusted the amount to a very small dose, but I still did not find that solution to be something that would be a long term solution. I used Viagra, Lavitra and Cialis. They provided some help, but again, the erections were not full enough for satisfactory penetration, and I experienced some side effects with a stuffy nose and slight headache. I also bought the ErectAid pump and found that with 20 mg of Cilalis, then toping that off with the pump and the associated restrictor ring, that this is the combination that provided me with the best erections. Regardless, for those of you that have used the pump, you may understand that this solution comes with its own issues. The restriction ring can cause some real discomfort, and about half the time, I had to stop in the middle of things to adjust and even pump up again. Also, because the blood flow is stopped due to the restriction ring, my penis became cold and somewhat desensitized after a while. This is not the solution that I wanted as my long term solution either.
I have therefore reached the top of the ladder in regard to ED treatments. My only option left is to go for the ultimate solution, the penile implant. I made this decision and last Thursday I had the operation. This treatment has an extremely high satisfaction rate. It will give me the ability to have a full erection at any time that I want, and to keep the erection for as long as I desire. It is the more radical solution, and I am sure that some of you may think that you would never do that, but at some point, it may become a solution that you will want to at least consider.
There is a six week recovery period, so I will come back and post an update in after a month or two to let you know how things turned out.
Regards,
Ted.
