Vesicare

Doctor told hubby to discontinue Vesicare and we'll try Enablex which says it doesn't effect the heart. Doctor also said that he's not heard of heart palpitations with Vesicare but that doesn't mean that the drug won't cause these problems. We'll be starting the Enablex tomorrow ... will keep you all posted.

Thanks for the update, Sephie.  I'm sorry the first drug didn't work out and would be interested in what the second one does.  My detrol LA doesnt' work as well as I had hoped but it probably did help some.  Always looking for something better.  Trust you are both doing well otherwise.  David

Steve: He's just starting the Viagra - our insurance company will only cover 4 pills for 20 days but the doctor said to only take it 2 or 3 times each week. Since he hadn't yet taken the pills, the Viagra did not cause the heart palpitations. He starts the Viagara this week with the Enablex so we'll see how everything goes.

Last night, we discussed his fluid intake and being aware of when he needs to stop drinking so that he can make the trip home in more comfort. This morning, he was very proud of himself: only urinated once in 90 minutes after getting up - for him, that's a record! I would prefer that he not take the Enablex long term so we'll see what the drug does and how he fares by restricting his fluid intake at certain times of the day.

Other than that, he's doing great...walking a couple of miles each day plus getting ready for tennis season (which he loves).
