Paper comparing results of all treatments for localized PC.

The following published paper gives the detail and summary of every trial conducted on localized treatments. It's 187 pages long and also gives states on side affects of each treatment option.

Basically the summary says there is no evidence to confirm that one option is better than another, although some options do have less side affects. It's interesting reading if you have nothing else to do.

I think I have seen this...But I will caution that this may be the same group that says stop testing 75 year olds. None were oncologists, urologists, or patients, and their professions were in other fields of medicine or even non-medicine...US Preventive Services Task Force...

Actually reading Table 1 on page 38 gives a great overall risk versus benefit for each treatment type. But I still question the overall veracity of the report. In this table the discussion lists as a risk for all non-surgical actions that the other treatments do not remove the prostate. In the very first studies RP is shown to be effective at reducing mortality but the other don't have as clear a picture.

WW ~ Watchful Waiting is listed as a risk for disease progression and can cause death.
