Even though I seldom post on the forum, I read it daily, learn a great deal from you guys, and follow everyone's journey. I just had my latest three-month PSA and it came back as another 0.0. I'm thrilled to still be a member of the Zero Club. I've also been completely continent and urinating "perfectly" since September 2008 and have a great sex life with the aid of 100 mg of Viagra, even though it took almost a year from surgery to get to that point.

Based on anyone's experience, given my profile (see signature below) how long can I expect to stay with PSA testing every three months before going to a six-month interval? I meet with my surgeon in September, but wanted to see if anyone else has experience with this topic.

Congrats you big ZERO guy.

I too just recently had my one year mark with another .01 and am now on a six month schedule. Six months is nice - but it wouldn't have bothered me if I was still on 3 months.

Congrats!! I just had my last checked last month and now on the 6month schedule, wont mind the 3 month either. I think the time intervals is determined based on post op pathology... either way as long as they are Zero's!!!

Hello Kark, congrats on a nice zero.

For many patients, the first year is every 3 months, then second year, every 6 months, then once a year after that. Depends on your doctor, his methods, and your actual condition.

Congratulations on the zero! And on achieving total continence as well as overcoming ED. Great to know there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Congrat Kark, also had my 3 month today and the report came back less than .01 which is undetectable. Dr thinks I have DVT which might be the cause of some of my ongoing pain. So back to my GI Dr. as he missed that last May. It did show up in my CT Scan prior to Robotic, which was done earlier this year, but I really didnt think anything about it since I had an endoscopy and coloscopy last year.

Great news there Kark and here's to them being the start of a long line. I made the decision to go with 3 monthly checks organized through my GP for the first two years. I wanted to keep a close watch on how things were going post op. Come August (2 year mark) I'll probably drop back to 3 times a year and play it by ear thereafter. (On a side note the PSA test only costs about $25-00)
