I passed my first kidney stone after my surgery this morning. My past experience has been really bad, considering I had severe BPH from a 110gm. prostate. Made letting the stones thru a difficult proposition. Todays episode was much better, once the stone had moved around my side from the kidney to the bladder. There's not much new you can do with one during passage, but pain killers and ibuprufen with lots of water to dilate and flush it out sooner. Once it drops into the bladder, it was a non-issue then. I thought it had passed to the bladder, but was still having pain in the flank, so wasn't really expecting anything when I went to pee for the first time after the change. Plop! out it came, unexpectedly and with no pain or any warning. A good sized one too, size of a small grape seed, but raggedier... That old swollen prostate sure didn't interfere this time. Total time of misery- 1 hr, 45 minutes....ah, now that's better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
