Got to work 6 hours today on my part time job, was thankful for that, though the leg bag was getting real irratation long before I left, and had a few spasms during the day. Smartly, I wore black slacks just in case.
Left work, four blocks later, I drove right through a stop sign (new neighborhood for me where I am working) and hit a car. Both cars were drivable, no serious injuries. It did jolt my catheter really hard, had some blood in the bag.
The police came right out, and the cop ran the same stop sign, why? Because the stop sign was completely covered by a low hanging oak tree, the branches came all the way to the ground. I never saw the sign, didn't even know there was a stop there. So I was not charged with the wreck (unsual here in SC, the cop said there was no way he could ticket me when he just did the same thing, and he would call the city to clear the sign). Guess you call it good bad luck.
Not bleeding, bag is clear, so don't feel inclined to go to ER. I often wondered what would happen if one got into a car wreck wearing a catheter. Morale of the story, don't do it.
PS. When I finally got home, huge thunderstorm knocked out power at house for 4 1/2 hours, what a day
