Real life example on nerve regeneration

This is not about PC but it may give us hope about nerve regeneration. All my life, I've had a problem with extremely sweaty palms, a condition called hyper hydrosis, so Three years ago, I had a neurologist perform a surgery where by he severed the nerves that cause my right hand to sweat. For 3 months my right palm was so dry that i had to use cream to moisten the skin. I was able to play golf without using a right hand glove and to shake hands without first drying my hand. After the 3rd month I noticed a slight damping in my right palm and by the 5th month it was sweating just like it did before. I went back to the neurologist and all he could tell me was that the nerves regenerated and reconnected. I'm hoping that the same thing will happen to my nerve bundles.

Hyperhydrosis is not that unusual. Some people have it in their face, head, underarms or any other part of their body. In my case, it seems to be hereditary because my sister and 2 of my nieces seem to have the same problem. I remember having to have to cover the paper I'm writing on so that I don't get it wet. It caused me a lot of problem at work as well. I had to carry and handkerchief in my pocket to dry my hand before I shake hands with a customer. If you check hyperhydrosis on the internet you will find a lot of people with this condition. Some use Botox as a temporary fix.
