My biopsy came back negative today. I just wanted to say thank you to the forum. After reading so many of your stories and the incredible advice I was very well prepared for the worst case scenerio. It's not over, my dad had PC and through hormones and radiation he is cancer free three years later.

 My wife couldn't believe how calm I was about the whole thing, but I owe it all to you. I will be checking in and will be watching. Thank you for your support.

Congratulations on the negative biopsy.  Please continue to be vigilant and monitor your PSA and other symptoms.  With a family history, you need to stay on top of it.  But for now - way to go.  Go out and celebrate.  David

Thanks David...I feel a litle guilty like little Miss Mary Sunshine, but I really couldn't have made it this far on the journey w/o everyone here on the forum. I will be vigilant with my PSA and I'll be preaching the PSA to my boys...now 32.

Hi Azfyrfyter.
Welcome to HealingWell, Congrats on the negative biopsy. I caution you to stay diligent. Biopsy is not a perfect science, so keep a close eye on this and if there is a rise in PSA, then request a more thourough biopsy. There are also new tests out there that can help out ~ PCA3 is a urine test. This has become quite available.

But for now enjoy the good news.

Congrats on negative biopsy. I think you need to get a rational explaination to high PSA. Do you have enlarged prostate? Did biopsy show inflamation? Absent the explaination keep digging. Maybe an MRI is in order. I had five or six negative biopsies before they found the cancer. I wish I did not just wait for the next one every time. There are other tests, saturation biopsies, etc. Get an answer from your doc as to why PSA is so high. Greg

Thats great news

For the heck of it, see if you can get some Trimix anyway, there is no way to describe the 2 hr non-stop action one gets from this magical shot, Its definitely worth a shot !!!

Az, congrats, and no need to feel guilty, this is one club you don't want to belong too. Glad you found us, glad we helped prepare you just in case. Hope it stays that way for the rest of your life. My best to your dad too.

Greg, I will continue. I did have right side enlargement on DRE. My Urologist is going to hold off on prescription meds for now, but I will keep exploring the reason for the high PSA. I have also radically changed my diet to try and keep my prostrate healthy. Thanks for the advice.

Mr. Gimpy...still have ED to contend with...maybe Trimix is the answer. I tried Viagra...didn't like the way I felt the next AM. Cialis is a little better.

Geebra is absoultely spot on. You need an explaination for your high PSA. The prostate volume in cc multiplied by 0.066 will give you the amount of normal psa. The doctor should have measured your prostate when he did the biopsy. Any psa that is higher should be suspect. Don't stop looking until you find a doctor that can give you an answer.
