Cyber Knife Anyone?

I watched a show on a local tv channel last night about cyber knife treatment for pc. The host was with a Radiation Oncologist & took phone in questions but no one asked specifics about side effects or sucess rates. They said it was a form of radiation treatment. What's anyone know about it? Anyone use it? Any links that you know about?

It's been around for a couple years...It's supposed to be a precise way of delivering hi Gy. to a tumor. There are no long term stucies as to how effective it is...Hasn't been around long enough for them. Any guinae pigs out there?

I understand that it is a form of orbital delivery such as Arc or TomoTherapy. The technology allows to deliver radiation from many more angles than IMRT and as a result can deliver large dozes in short time. Instead of 40+ treatments they do it over just a few and the marketing geniuses liken it to surgery.

It's used for focal therapy. That is removing small tumors without affecting the area around it.
It's used for a lot of cancers, liver, brain, places that are hard to get to.
Bad idea for PC, because PC is usually mulitfocal, and not just one tumor.
