My 1st post surgery PSA is scheduled on Oct. 19th. The last few days I've been having some severe pain in my left arm and shoulder area and a few days before it was pain in my upper Right leg. Of course my first thought is 'OH no its cancer'  but my wife tells me that since my lymph glands were clean on Pathology that she didn't believe the cancer would have spread. I guess its just that older age setting in since I turned 55 last month.

Any thoughts?

Larry, your concerns are truly understandable. It is amazing how many new aches and twinges we start to feel after a cancer dx and treatment. I went through the same feelings, was convinced every new ache in my hips and loins was a sure sign that the cancer had spread. It didn't matter that tests showed otherwise, just kind of made me paranoid at every corner. My wife would remind me that I am a 57 year old man, with artitihis in my knees and hips, and I am not 25 anymore. Plus, despite what the books and doctors say, it takes an older body much longer to recoup from a major surgery. My surgeon was honest enough to say at least a year.

Hope you feel better, you will when you get that good psa test ahead.

One little wrong twist or turn and I have trouble getting out of bed the next day....Isn't old age grand.

What!! Old age in the 50's...hmmmm. You are only as old as you think you are.

Me...probably back into my 20 something by now. If you ever played sports, then you know about those pains that come back after years of being silent, just waiting to find the most appropriate time to spring up on you and make you remember your body wasn't supposed to be that flexible back then.

50s is not old at all, if you don't have a handful two year old try to keep up with. smilewinkgrin

My boys are both married, no grandkids...But my stepson who is 17 makes up for the 2 year olds!
