Robert Young (above) diagnosed after he had bone pains, thought it was arthritis or such. Well it was advanced PCa, his psa number was above 3000 at diagnosis. Learned all he could and even put out a dictionary that is small but found in Libraries. He lived 3 years with this level of advanced disease, and was an icon in PCa world. Not every case is directly comparable, there is a guy on yananow mentors list, looks like 10 yrs. and going and his numbers are very high and omnious stats. Another veteran whom paved some ground for us others is Bill Ashman (find his info on prostate-help.org), one of the more studious laypersons on PCa he fought this mano la mano literally, until the end.
Look at everything available to fight this, see PCa oncologists if you can find one and even then look for second opinions. There are many ways to consider fighting this and you should have some input as to which one(s) you wish to do. Get Dr. Strums book- A Primer on Prostate Cancer (learn all you can).
Hope this helps you and gives you some solace.
